A near record crowd witnessed brilliant spectacle, produced by a wide variety of cars and motorcycles, at round six of the 2015 Extreme Festival tour.
Meanwhile a beer garden, flea market, food court, motorcycle exhibition and music festival did brisk business inside the venue.
On track, top billing went to the G & H Transport Extreme Supercar contingent, and they duly produced the goods. Jaki Scheckter (Pablo Clark Ferrari F430 GT3) won the opening race, marginally ahead of Charl Arangies (Stradale Lamborghini GT3). Behind them Dawie Joubert (Lotus Exige Honda) took a last-gasp third place over Sav Gualtieri (OKI BMW M3), leading home Jonathan du Toit (TAR Ferrari F430) and Deon du Plessis (BPT KTM X-Bow). Scheckter’s job was made easier the second time around, when both Gualtieri’s BMW and Joubert’s Lotus suffered off road excursions, while the Arangies Lamborghini developed a progressive misfire. Scheckter won from Arangies, Joubert, Du Toit, Du Plessis and Nicky Dicks (Curvent Ferrari F430). Joubert’s Lotus, benefitting from superior tyre wear, handled better than the other front-running cars in the final race. That enabled him to snatch the lead at the start and keep it throughout the eight-lap heat. He was followed over the finish line by Scheckter’s Ferrari, Arangies’ Lamborghini.
Daryn Upton (Turn-Skill Kawasaki ZX10R) won the first Thunderbike race, finishing two seconds ahead of Nicolas Grobler (Golden Mile Estate BMW HP4), with Anthony Shelley (Fercor Kawasaki) third, another two seconds adrift.

The Sub10 Superbike and Silverton Bolt & Nut Challenge race went to Shaun Vermaak SUB10 (Stoutgat Suzuki GSXR), followed by Dirk Stols SBN (MIK Services Kawasaki) and Rupert Fourie SUB10 (Silverton Nut and Bolt Kawasaki).
The opening Formula 1600 Duratec race went to Robert Wolk (Chemical Logistics Mygale), followed by Keagan Masters (Performance Masters Mygale) and Dewald Brummer (Anglo Truck Mygale). Wolk repeated the victory in race two, this time ahead of Werner Scholtz (Motorvia Mygale) and Masters.

Overall victory in Class A of the Leisure Grass Superhatch category was taken by Hilton van Nieuwenhuizen (ASAP Citroen C2), followed by Brett Garland (Jonnesway Honda Civic) and Werner Pieterse (IDG
VWGolf) Class B was won by Nic Martin (Rex Diff Opel Kadett), leading Morne Human (X35 Energy VW Golf mk1) and Jono Konig (Northern Bolt Peugeot 206). Class C went to Andre de Lange (ADL Roofing Ford Fiesta), chased by Melanie Spurr (G&H Transport/Castrol Opel Corsa) and Tony Hyams (Building Code Ford Fiesta).
Adrian Dalton (Xtra Shoes VW Golf) took overall victory in the category for Speed and Sound 111 Sports and Saloon Cars. He was followed by Mark du Toit (RDG BMW Z4) and Clive Densham (Alfa Giulia Sprint).
