The Zwartkops Raceway will offer spectators a full programme of entertainment on both four and two wheels next Tuesday, June 16, to celebrate Youth Day at the venue. The Extreme Festival and Youth Day Racing event will, motorsport apart, boast a wide variety of spectacle and fun.
On the circuit, the day's bill-topping events will be races for G&H Transport Extreme Supercars. Making its debut will be the Exceed Gear Lamborghini Trofeo of Christo Lotter, taking on the Pablo Clark Ferrari F430 of Jaki Scheckter, the Lotus Exige of Dawie Joubert, The Aeroparts Porsche 997 of Vernon Bricknell, The TAR Ferrari F430 of Jonathan du Toit and the OKI BMW of Sav Gualtieri. Also in the ballpark should be Deon du Plessis (BPT KTM X-Bow), Gianni Giannoccaro (G&H Transport BMW M3), Mark du Toit (TAR Ferrari F360), Oliver Dalais (Marlboro Crane Ford GT1), Ricky Giannoccaro (G&H Transport BMW M3), Greg Parton (Drixit KTM X-Bow).

With an entry list of some 40 cars, the Speed and Sound 111 Sports and Saloon car races should provide an excellent spectacle. Front runners should include Adrian Dalton (VW Golf Turbo), Harry Arangies (Vaal Fluids Porsche 944), Lucas Bezuidenhout (PTA North Toyota Lexus), Vaughn Obhlidal (Rislone BMW M3), Rory Beattie (Castrol Jaguar XJ), Bruce Turner (Speed & Sound BMW 328 and Greg Moloney (G&H Transport Mini).
The Leisure Grass / Northern Bolt and Tool Superhatch races should see tight overall battles between people like Hilton van Nieuwenhuizen (ASAP Citroen C2), Renier Claassen (Tissen Peugeot 206), Mark du Toit (TAR Honda Ballade), Peter Lotter (HM Auto VW Golf), Werner Pieterse (IDG VW Golf), in B’s Stuart & Jono Konig (Northern Bolt & Tool Peugeot 206’s) and in the C’s Andre De Lange (ADL Roofings Ford Fiesta) and Mel Spurr (G & H/Castrol Opel Corsa)

The National Sports Car Challenge brigade will tackle an eight-lap race in the morning and a 30-minute contest in the afternoon. Top contenders should be Mark Lauth (Black Chrome Shelby CanAm), James Forbes (MTN ADR), Craig Pieterse (Genie Lola T70) and Doug MacDonald (Fantastic Shelby CanAm). The Thunderbike races should see Daryn Upton (Turn-Skill Kawasaki), taking on Etienne Nelson (Caboc BMW), Stephen Steenkamp (PTA North Pretoria Honda), Ryan van Aswegen (Kawasaki), Ivan van Niekerk (Kawasaki) and Heinrich Rheeder (BMW).
There will also be races for Formula 1600 Duratec single seaters, Sub10 Superbikes and The Silverton Bolt & Nut motorcycles. The organisers expect around 200 entries, all told.

Side shows will include an aerobatic display, sky divers, helicopter rides, a wheelie machine, drifting and stunt bike riding demos, sound off, show & shine, car club displays, a beer garden, over craft market 50 stalls, free kids entertainment with competitions, a battle of bands, pocket bike racing on the kart circuit and Gymkhana fun on the skidpan.
Admission will cost R90 for adults and R60 for students, while children under 12 go in for free.
Racing will start at 10am.
