The countdown has begun, the first race of the year is at hand and tensions are running high. You can feel the excitement among the riders from Facebook comments to messages, the long awaited start of the season is finally here.
With an impressive thirty racers having joined for the 2014 season, bolstered by no less than six new class A members. This makes for some unknown talent added to the already well know lightning quick racers such as Graeme van Breda, Gavin Lightfoot, Brian Bontekoning and Pieter de Vos. New riders always add to the excitement as no one really knows exactly what to expect, how quick they are or how they will cope in the relaxed off track atmosphere of the Kawasaki Masters, with cheerful spirit of track but extremely competitive racing on the track. The cup is known for its camaraderie and close racing and the 2014 season will be no different.

The Kawasaki Masters Cup Show will be crisscrossing over the entire South Africa this year and the most exciting news is that this year also includes a race in Port Elizabeth for the first time in 5 years! The ZX10 Masters Cup Club in its eight year of running, which is pretty impressive as any one-make series racing goes; still with the backing of superb sponsors Red Square, Kawasaki and Bridgestone, it is still the premier racing series in South Africa, with the biggest grids and closest racing.

The bikes are very close to the stock bikes available on any Kawasaki show room floor. The rules are pretty straight forward, all bikes are the same, levers and rear sets and end- can be replaced, a race fairing must be fitted, suspension standard except for springs and oil and a minor change to the rear shock which is done by RD Racing and then sealed. Only one set of R10 Bridgestone race tyres allowed per race day. The big rule change for 2014 is a minimum weight for rider and bike combined to level the playing field more and create even closer racing following on a rule successfully implemented in Moto2 as well.
Remember on race day that the pits are always open to the public for pictures and autographs, bring the kids to chat to their favourite racers and share in our passion.
The days will also include Live Music, Sideways Challenge Demo, Kiddies Play Park, Exhibitions and Beer Garden. Buy tickets online or on the day of the event for R80 per Adult, R50 per Student and free entry for kids under 12 years of age. Or buy the weekend ticket for only R100 per Adult and R70 per Student from our website.
See you at Zwartkops on Friday & Saturday the 21st and 22nd of March 2014!
