| Andrew Blackwood-Murray is a Captain at South African Airways on the Boeing 737. He has a total of 14 thousand hours of flying experience and been a pilot for 26 years. He is an ex Impala pilot from the SA Air Force having learnt to fly on the Harvard. | |
| Andrew currently fly’s the Harvard and Pitts Special. Whilst at SAA, he has flown the Boeing 747 & 767 and the Airbus 340. The aircraft will be flying on Saturday is the Czechoslovakian Zlin 50L, a fully aerobatic aircraft capable of sustaining plus or minus 9 g’s (in other words, 8 times the gravitational pull of the earth). The plane only weighs 570kg and is powered by a 6 cylinder 260hp Lycoming engine. |
