On Friday and Saturday some 350 racing cars and racing motorcycles will take to the track in over 26 racing events which will include;

| The resumption of the great battle with Sarel van der Merwe in the red Galaxie and Hennie Groenewald in the blue 1957 Plymouth Fury being hounded by the Black Widow Chev of Jonathan du Toit and his brother Mark, in the Junior Johnson Biscayne. The grey Galaxie of Paolo Cavalieri, the MJ Meiring Ford Fairlane and the yellow Galaxie of Ferdi van Niekerk Jnr will create a spectacular chase for glory. |
| If this is not enough the program includes the new Champion of Champions class of the sixties; Mustangs of Franco Scribante, Thomas Falkiner, Mark du Toit, Camaros of Jonathan du Toit, Mike Briggs, Leeroy Poulter Nova or the Hinckley Fairlane, Hennie Groenewald Mercury Comet and wild cards such as the 240 Z Datsuns of SP Racing driven by Colin Clay. |
| The new under 2 litre Pre-1966 Production Cars will have Lotus Cortinas, Alfa Guilias, Volvo, BMW and Mini Coopers. |

| The South African Tourist Trophy for Pre-1966/68 Le Mans Sports & GT cars is a major attraction where we have a spread of some of the greatest Sport & GT cars ever raced; two Ford GT40’s from Europe, three SA entries, three Lola T70’s, four Cobra’s, three Lotus Elans (two from Europe), a very special Chevron B8 frim the UK, Corvette (Holland), and perhaps one of the greatest icons of them all a very special racing E-Type Jaguar… Over 30 entries in the 45 minute SA Tourist Trophy with 9 international participants. |
| The Jody Scheckter Tyrrell similar to the one which Jody drove to victory in the 1975 South African Grand Prix will be on track together with other great Formula Cars of the sixties and seventies. |
| The Dallara Formula One of Andre Bezuidenhout will do a special track demonstration. The sight and sound of Formula One in action. |
| The Pre-1974 International Sport Racing Prototypes has Porsche 917’s, Lola T70’s, a Lyle Can-Am car, Chevron B19’s and B8’s, Lotus, Ford GT40’s, Porsche RSR’s plus Group 5 Production Cars. The fastest sports racing cars of the early seventies, some of which were even faster than the formula ones of the time. |
| Historic Saloons has attracted an entry of sixty cars which will include the late Tony Viana’s BMW 745, Robbie Smit in a BMW 325, Capris, Camaro’s, Datsun 240 Z’s, young Philip Pantazis returns from Switzerland to race a special Datsun IMZA 240 Z. |
| The ”Little Giants” is an unique event with 35 entries of all shapes and sizes; Mini’s, MG’s, GSM Darts, Porsche 356, Alfa’s from Ti’s of the late 50’s to the Alfa GT’s of the mid sixties. They will all be raced. |
| The SA Springbok Series of Isle of Man racing bikes has brought some 17 international riders to South Africa. This is the only racing bike event on Saturday. The sight and sound of Norton… Riders such as Ian Simpson (Scotland), Bill Simpson (Scotland), Clive Mawson (Zimbabwe), Stephen Maxwell (Scotland) and many more. |
| The cars that put Lotus on the map in the fifties, the Lotus 7 and its derivatives have a special place in the hearts of many people. They are on the program with some 35 cars and very competitive racers. |
| The 247 Ferrari Challenge should have 12 of the red dragons on track with Jaki Scheckter heading the field in a “new” special 430 Challenge Car. |
| From the “Past to the Present” and the G&H Transport Extreme Supercars. Whilst the ‘Passion for Speed’ festival captures the Golden Age of Racing, there is also the present. The new generation where the focus is the profile, sound and fiery of dramatic high technology races. These are the cars that today’s generation identify with and the aspiration exists to own and drive on road and track. They are spectacular cars and licenced to thrill and they will be at Zwartkops. Heading a star studded entry will be Jaki Scheckter in the GT 247 Challenge Ferrari 430 which has just arrived in South Africa. He will most certainly be challenged by the Extreme Supercars of Charl Arangies in the mighty Stradale Dodge Viper, the TAR Ferrari 430 of Jonathan du Toit. |
| From the UK come the Cooper Maserate, Cooper Climax, Brabham, Wainer to match themselves against the SA Single Seaters of the fifties, sixties and early seventies. |
