Eve takes Shelby title…

| Alan Eve (Shelby – Pilot Pens) was crowned the Shelby Can-Am National Champion at Killarney at the end of September 2014. It was a mere formality as Alan dominated the season of SA Sports and V8 Supercars Championship, scoring high points at every race meeting. Alan is still in the running to take the crown as the SA Sports and V8 Supercars Champion in the last round of the season at Zwartkops Raceway 1st November 2014. |
| Alan is leading the combined Championship 25 points ahead of defending champion Ben Morgenrood (V8 Mustang). All eyes will be focused on the championship battle, but there’s close racing throughout the field and this race is going to be the spectacle of the day. There will surely be some very intense racing between these two legends for the overall crown. |
| Rui Campos (Shelby – Liqui Moly), last year’s champion, makes a welcome return in Ian Smith’s Shelby, while Barry Ingle (Shelby – Fantastic Racing ) is also back in Doug MacDonald’s Shelby. Although unable to make the last round due to work commitments overseas, Ingle will be going all out. And Shelby stalwarts, Alister Brown (NAC) and Craig Shorter (Hollard/Trojan Racing) will also be going head-to-head in the battle for top results and battling it out for second and third overall positions in the championship. |
| Another one to look out for is Mark Lauth (Shelby – Black Chrome) will make a happy return to Zwartkops, a track he is very familiar with, and with this being only his 3rd National race he is improving fast and is hoping for a high overall result. Andrew Strike (Shelby – Strike 1), who hasn’t raced at Zwartkops since February is hungry for a solid performance. Christopher Leeson (Shelby -Claassen Auret Incorporate), is back in Menno Parsons’ Shelby, having proven at East London that he has both pace and ability to stay in top mix when the going gets tough. He is hoping for another podium position like that of East London when he made his Shelby début. His father, Chris Leeson (Shelby – Claassen Auret Incorporate) is also back driving in Brian Algar’s Shelby, and his pace will be monitored closely. |

| Fritz Kleynhans (Shelby – Comenius) will be looking forward to being back at his home track and is hoping to finish the season off in a high note. |

| The venue gates will be open from 6am, racing will start at 10am and tickets will cost R80 per adult, R60 per student and children under 12 free. As usual there will be special catering for a kiddies play park, supersport events on screen at Aces Café, while the Mini Moke transport system will offer rides from and to the pits and car ports. |
