The Bridgestone Superbikes National Challenge Series is intended for experienced and expert riders. It is a premier motorcycle championship on the Extreme Festival tour.

The Bridgestone Superbike Series is open to all regional MSA license holders. If you are 16 or older and have a 600CC or larger capacity motorcycles you can join in the fun. There is no restriction on any performance modifications that may be done on the motorcycle, exhaust, air filter, suspension, tuning etc. Competitors however may not fit turbo chargers, super-chargers or Nitrous Oxide boosting.

Classes are time-based and if you do a lap-time of 1.08.99 or lower around Zwartkops Raceway, you are eligible to race in this series. There are three classes in Bridgestone Superbikes, Class A caters for riders with a lap-time of 1.04.49 and lower, Class B is for you if you do a time between 1.04.50 and 1.06.99 around the Zwartkops track and Class C is above 1.07.00 and lower than 1.08.99. As lap-times improve riders will move up the classes. If you are not there yet, you can join the Bridgestone Challenge series, the feeder class for this series, and improve your riding skills.

There is also a class for Ladies and for the Masters, these riders score point in the Class they do on time and the special classes. Points are scored in the Master's class if a rider was born before 1 January 1974, so 45 years and older.

This is a series for the very passionate rider, and you get to rub shoulders with some of the well know super riders South Africa has. The series sponsor Bridgestone provides excellent priced sponsored tyres and at the moment no other tyre manufacturer can compete with the R11 and VO2 tyre.

 

Being a national challenge series, riders get to race around many different tracks in South Africa and all the races have TV coverage.
