Midvaal Saturday 6th March

Midvaal experienced a renaissance on 6th March with a good entry on the day and public support. The track is however still very bumpy which affected the results of the day. Alan Poulter posted the fasted Legends time of the day, ahead of Mark du Toit in the bouncing Nascar Chev Biscayne. Poulter was unfortunate to have a scrutineer pull him off the grid for a very minor oil drip. He did make up for it in the second heat when he gave Mark a real run for his money. The Biscayne would out drag Poulter on the straight only to loose out on the tighter bits as the Biscayne ran out of cope in the corners. This great dice had to end as the Biscayne hit a pot hole which rearranged its front suspension – pity. Poulter won.

Execuline Legends of the 9 Hour™ Pre – 1966 Le Mans Sports & GT – Midvaal, 6th March 2010
The entries were thin for a point scoring round. Those who did venture it to Midvaal had a good days racing. Albeit that the circuit is still very bumpy which broke cars. In the first heat Ross Lazarus got a puncture on the first lap and was forced to withdraw. The Daytona of Jonathan which was lying second to Garth’s big Lola T70 hit a bump which sent him off the circuit. This upset the steering and together with a misfire was forced to retire.
